Orc-Week 8- (office reveal)

I can’t believe I did an entire room in eight weeks! We are now at the end of the ORC 8 week challenge and this was my first time participating. I picked the office for the first time because I said it would be the easiest space to do meaning it would need the least amount of work. Well that was a lie….lets dive into the room with a little recap.

MOOD BOARD

Setting the mood in this room was about comfort, functionality, and organization. With a home business I needed to have a spot for everything but still have a place I wanted to be in even when I wasn’t working. Even though the mood board changed some throughout the challenge the jest of it stayed the same. You can see more on how it came together here.

With every space in our home I always like to add beautiful rich colors in here I used Inkwell by Sherwin Williams. Which you can see the how here. plants, and natural wood (in this case refinishing the original hardwood floors. So lets talk about the floors a little:

FLOORING

The one thing I knew from the beginning while planning this room that I was going to refinish the floors in here and I was going to add in the hallway with it. I was hoping that when I sanded the old finish off that they would look very close to the finished look of the flooring we installed in our bedroom. They turned out so beautiful and the finish with a clear coat of sealant and finish you would almost think they are the same in each room.

PINBOARDS

Needing a space when planning out designs for clients was crucial. I found the perfect look from Eyeswoon. Not needing three boards I adjusted the shape and size to work for us like this. Adding in 1 1/2 inch copper pieces to the back to pop it off the wall giving it a little added something.

But for me the best part of the whole room was the wallpaper on the fifth wall. Every time I walk into the room I look up at the beautiful wallpaper from Milton & King. The Beetle & Butterfly paste to wall print was so easy to apply it is becoming my go to company for wallpaper. You can see how I did the pinboards, wallpaper, and etc here.

FINISHING TOUCHES

Those little touches of a handmade mirror, a rug, office necessities like these file cabinets here and here, a time teller, some unique legos, and trying my hand at some art that I saw Carmeon Hamilton create on one of her episodes of Crafts and Cocktails by HGTV.

This room is business as usual but now it does it with some comfort and a sophisticated mood.

Speaking of comfort, sophistication, and whole moods the reveals of fellow ORC participants has me stuck to their page for the past couple days. Make sure you check out some of these beautiful spaces here.
