At our house, we’re all about keeping things simple without compromising on flavor. That’s why we’ve chosen an amazing cheddar rice mix from Aldi’s, our go-to grocery store. We’ve been pleasantly surprised by the quality of their store brands, and this cheddar rice mix is no exception!
Now, let’s dive into it and show you what you’ll need:
Ingredients:
- Earthly Grains Cheddar Broccoli Mix
- Park view Cheddar Brats
- 1/2 cup Milk
- 1 cup Water
- 2 Cheddar Brats
- 1 Tbsp butter
How to makee a cheddar rice bowl with cheddar brats over the fire:
1.) While preparing your ingredients, place your cast iron Dutch oven over the fire with a little drizzled olive oil to heat it up. While the Dutch oven is heating, cut up the cheddar brats and gather the other ingredients as listed on the rice packaging.
2.) Pour the water, milk, butter, rice mix, and cheddar brats into the cast iron Dutch oven. Give it a good stir to combine. Cover the Dutch oven and place it over the fire.
3.) Let the mixture cook for approximately 20-30 minutes (depending on how your cast iron is sitting over the fire), stirring occasionally. As it cooks, you’ll notice the mixture thickening until it becomes almost creamy. Once it reaches this consistency, it’s ready to be served!
